This class is not very exciting, but I can't blame it on the instructor. Economics has never been my thing but if you pay attention in class and take notes (which I'll admit is hard to do sometimes) then you'll be fine. The text book is a good reference but in-class notes should be more helpful when it comes to homework and the final. Grade Received: A

Run away from this class!! Its extremely hard and very boring. He even admits he's boring. He does not teach very well either. The average for exams were like 25/40 for the final and I mean its terrible. He's a very nice man but when it comes to teaching he's terrible. You will fall asleep in this class also. Almost half of the class was asleep in mine. Take someone else! You will not pass this class.

He is definitely one of the better econ professors at cal poly. He was very helpful, just show up to class everyday (sit towards the front so you can hear him) take good notes, and read the book and you should get at least a B in the class. Grade Received: A

I agree with everyone else below. He does have a rather soft voice which could be a problem especially if you sit in the back. Although his lectures are "boring" ( But I don't see how much more interesting he could have possibly made them? ), if you really try to listen.. they actually make a lot of sense. IF you choose not to listen.. you should probably just copy down the notes anyways. They'll help you on the homework. He's a very friendly person, if you get bored or confused from a particular concept from lecture, just speak with him after class. Surprisingly, he is much more helpful when it's 1-on-1. All in all, the class was chill, I would take him again. Grade Received: A

Econ may be hard, But his class is fairly reasonable. He is a really nice teacher and really cares about his students. He replies to emails, is available during his office hours and is more than willing to help you if you ask.
If you study the book, than your good. His tests are fair. He tells you what to study for, so if you study that in the book, your good.
I studied his lecture notes for the midterm. That gave me a different understanding to the concepts, so i didn't do so well.
If i had done good on the midterm, i would of gotten an A in the class.
He likes to help his students, he curved the mid term and finals to help everyone.
He even offers homework which is 20% of your grade. Thats really great for some professors just have a mid term and a final. Its a cushion. Grade Received: B+

This teacher was not good. But he did have an AMAZING curve. He has a very monotone voice and he would go very fast through the slides. Pretty much it is useless to go to class, which is probly why most of my class didn't. The midterm is worth 30%, homework is worth 20% and the final is worth 50%. His midterm was HARD! Our class average was 15/30. Homework was average and the final was tough. But because of the curve (on the final grades) my grade went from a C- to a B!!! He is a nice guy, he just can't teach. Pretty much the whole quater you are just depending on the curve. GOOD LUCK! Grade Received: B

Pretty good teacher overall. Gives good examples.
the curve was pretty bad in our class. On the midterm i believe the average was a 16 out of 30. I got an 18 and his homework is pretty challenging no real study guide. i recommend his class its pretty easy Grade Received: B-
